Office of the Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Brandon Edward Dunbar

Hello, fellow scholars, peers, and the greater UCR community!
My name is Brandon Edward Dunbar (he/him/his), a fourth-year Political Science Major with a Minor in Black Study & Business Administration, focusing in HR and Organizational Behavior with an overall concentration in DEI; and I’m excited to serve our campus and its residents as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

My lived experience as a gay, body-positive, multi-racial man has led me to various experiences and a robust understanding of the urgency to act as a voice for all communities, specifically focusing on those most-targeted, especially in today's climate.

I have previous work experience in DEI at The Disneyland Resort, Cypress College, and other organizations.

My goal is always to leave things better than I found them and work towards a more equitable future!

If you'd like to know more, or have any concerns (and/or constructive feedback for me or my office personally), feel free to stop by during my office hours, connect with me on LinkedIn, or send me a direct email at bdunb001@ucr.edu.

I look forward to all that we're going to achieve. :)

Diversity Council

The ASUCR Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is seeking student leaders committed to an inclusive, equitable, and just campus environment at UC Riverside. Responsibilities include engaging with UCR’s Vice Chancellor and Chief Diversity Officer, supporting DEI policy development, and promoting accountability across student government. This is an ideal opportunity for students passionate about advocacy, representation and institutional change.

Disability Rights and Awareness Committee

The ASUCR Disability Rights and Awareness Committee shall act as the body of ASUCR that is responsible for prioritizing the voices of all persons with disabilities. This committee will attempt to achieve both external and campus wide awareness on Disability Equity rights and issues. They shall work in coalition with the Student Disability Resource Center and other organizations geared towards disability awareness in order to decide, in collaboration, how to appropriately address the issues they will be focusing on as well as promoting disability equity.
