Senior Class Gift

The Senior Class Gift, which was established by elected ASUCR officers in 1999, is a way for graduating seniors to “give back” to the campus, and create a legacy for their class.  In the past, the gifts have included the following:

  • 2001-02         Commons Donation (Scotty Bench)
  • 2002-03         Commons Donation (Scotty Bench)
  • 2003-04         Commons Donation (Scotty Bench)
  • 2004-05         Commons Tree Fund
  • 2005-06         Commons Furniture (Custom Cabinet 3rd Floor HUB Lounge)
  • 2006-07         Commons Donation (Scotty Bench)
  • 2007-08         Green Dream (Sustainable structure at R’Garden)
  • 2008-09         Scotty Bench
  • 2009-10         Library Reserve Books

  • 2011-12         Veteran’s Scholarship

  • 2013-14         Hydration Station

In 2014-15, the Chancellor’s office expressed a desire to think more broadly about student philanthropy and re-envision the way class giving is structured at UCR.  This began a discussion that has resulted in a future campus giving initiative that will encompass more than graduating seniors.  ASUCR has been asked to discontinue the traditional Senior Class Gift while this broader campus student giving strategy begins to take form.  The ASUCR Senior Class Gift was in place from 1998 to 2014.  Thank you to those classes for providing gifts that have enhanced our campus in so many ways.
